Administrative Segregation Transition Program
The mission of the Administrative Segregation Transition Program is to prepare offenders for the transition from administrative segregation to general population.
The Administrative Segregation Transitional Program (ASTP) is a method to assist offenders in their transition to the General Population environment. The four (4) month process involves three (3) phases and entails a period of acclimation to having a cellmate as well as various program components to improve functioning in areas including emotional balance, beliefs, thinking patterns, life and coping skills, problem solving, and building/maintaining appropriate and healthy relationships. Participants are exposed to in cell and out of cell opportunities to develop skills and increase their knowledge base. Classroom, individual and small group interventions are utilized to aid in re-acclimation to the General Population environment.
