Executive Director's Recruiting Award
Recruit a CO and Earn Administrative Leave
As of December 31, 2011, the U.S. Department of Treasury ended the sale of paper Series EE and I savings bonds, which is the method TDCJ used for the Executive Director's Recruiting Award. Therefore, since the bonds are no longer available, Executive Director Brad Livingston has authorized new guidelines pertaining to the Executive Director's Recruiting Award.
Current full-time employees are eligible to receive eight hours of administrative leave for each applicant referral that results in a newly hired Correctional Officer (CO) accepting an assignment at a designated bonus unit. Administrative leave will expire one calendar year from the date it was issued.
Three Easy Steps
Convince a relative or friend to apply for a Correctional Officer position.
Complete and sign Correctional Officer Applicant Referral form.
Have the applicant complete the Applicant Information section and submit the referral form with his/her application.
To receive this award, the Correctional Officer Applicant Referral form (PERS 415) must be completed and signed by both the applicant and TDCJ employee. This form must be included with the application when the applicant reports for Correctional Officer screening.

PD-54, "Recruitment Bonus Program" is being revised to incorporate these changes.
