Texas Department of Criminal Justice
TDCJ employees may purchase voluntary AD&D coverage for up to $200,000 in multiples of $5,000 with a minimum purchase of $10,000. Employees may also purchase AD&D coverage for eligible dependents.
Coverage
- AD&D coverage for the spouse may be 50% of employee coverage;
- AD&D coverage for children may be 10% of employee coverage if the spouse is not covered; or
- 5% of employee coverage if the spouse is covered.
Employee Cost
- Employee Only: $0.02 per $1,000 coverage
- Employee & Family: $0.04 per $1,000 coverage
Group long-term care coverage is available to all eligible employees, their spouses, parents, parents-in-law, and grandparents. A variety of services are provided for people who are unable to care for themselves, including nursing home care and personal custodial care, as well as coverage for the following: alternative facility care, community-based care, caregiver training, emergency alert benefits, in-home care, adult day care, home health care, and informal care assistance for daily living. Employee Cost
Purchaser pays all applicable costs through bank draft or personal check. Monthly premiums vary, depending on the daily benefit amount chosen and age at enrollment.
