The mission of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Victim Services Division is to provide a central mechanism for crime victims to participate in the criminal justice system. The Victim Services Division is dedicated to providing direct, personal service to crime victims, surviving family members, witnesses who testified at trial and concerned citizens.
CO staffing numbers show significant improvement
At the February meeting of the Texas Board or Criminal Justice in Austin, TDCJ Executive Director Brad Livingston described the agency's correctional officer staffing challenge as "one of the most persistent operational challenges that we've dealt with during the course of the last several years."
SHSU scholarship opportunity for TDCJ employees
Sam Houston State University's College of Criminal Justice, in partnership with the Correctional Management Institute of Texas, will award two scholarships to TDCJ employees nominated by the agency and accepted into the SHSU Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management Weekend program.
