Victim Services staff brightens Easter holiday for abuse victims

During March, Victim Services Division staff member Yesenia Bravo-Vazquez organized an Easter donation drive for children in the SAFE shelter, a merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace. SAFE (Stop Abuse for Everyone) provides housing and support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation.

On her own initiative, Bravo-Vazquez contacted the SAFE for permission to donate Easter baskets for the shelter’s children. She, along with her colleagues, gathered Easter treats and gifts. On March 22, two large tall boxes of holiday spirit arrived at the shelter for distribution.
